I’m a Pakistani and I love my motherland. This is the place where I was born, educated, employed and I am living at the moment. This is the place where I would like to die. This is the land I would like to fight for. This is the piece of earth Allah choose for me and I was sent here.
The human nature has the tendency to feel possessive about certain things like: relationships, material objects, places etc. Most of the human care about such things. In our society, a father has all the right to punish its offspring for mistakes they commit, a mother has all the right to pamper her children, a brother cares about his younger siblings and has all the right to guide them to the safe path and a sister has all the right to take favors from brothers. Younger look up to their elders. Friends help a friend when he/ she is needy. This happens all around us. This all comes to us and happens to us.
Being Pakistani, I feel all the right to talk good and bad of my country. I have all the right to pin point areas where we are better and where we can be. I can take the liberty to unveil faces of people/ nations those want our people/ nation to fall down. I have a strong bond with my country and nobody can break this association. Nobody can dare to hinder since it’s a very personal connection.
I feel heartbreaking when told that each Pakistani is aware of the fact that our government is dictated by USA, economy is controlled by IMF, ministers are chosen on the instructions of foreign officials, land is allotted to people those have connections with political leaders, tax is exempted for VIPs etc. The only institute with dignity is Pakistan Armed Forces. The western lobby is behind it to segment the unity, competence, might and confidence. This is the only institute which can play a major role in order to shape up the bright future of Islamic world. I feel sad when see our politicians fighting with each other on the mere issues and to blow triumph of democracy. I feel bad when I see price hike and energy crisis. I feel worried when come to know that there is no roadmap with the leadership to assure us a safer and better tomorrow. I feel ashamed when drones are done by USA and our P.A.F doesn’t respond. I feel gloomy about innocent souls of Lahore, Karachi, Multan and all other cities who died in suicidal attacks for no reason. I feel depressing when soldiers of armed forces are slaughtered by so called Sharia reformers. I feel disgrace when our media portrays Indian and Western cultures as our own one. I feel embarrassment when our commercial tv channels only talk about negative side of the picture and claim as if they have all the right to capture anything (for meager commercials reasons only to prove that they are the most viewed channel).
I see my country in a mess which is created by our very own people and people across the border. But I’m not hopeless. We must realize our true potential which is the core reason for all the international pressure and interest. We have fertile land, human resource, coal reservoirs, wealth of minerals, crude oil, gold, uranium, hot sea and what not. With having faith in Allah and ourselves we can lead the world. Wake up my people… Wake up my nation…
